About Common Play

Common Play started very simply.

I ran a foam dart party for my son and realised two things very quickly – the kids were having an amazing time, and I was enjoying running it far more than I expected.

I’d worked with children years ago in outdoor activity centres, and something clicked. I’d missed this kind of work. The energy, the laughter, the moments where kids forget themselves and just get stuck in.

At the same time, most of my working life has been spent in fairly corporate environments, supporting small businesses and organisations. Good work, but very online. Very screen-based.

Common Play is a deliberate shift away from that.

It’s about creating offline experiences for kids that feel exciting, social, and memorable. The kind of parties where children are cooperating, working things out together, and still talking about it in the playground weeks later.

The games are energetic, but they’re structured. Everyone’s included. No one’s left standing on the sidelines unless they want to be.

Common Play exists to put proper smiles on faces – and to do it in a way that feels thoughtful, safe, and genuinely fun.

Play, done with care.
